Rukmani Haran, is a dance ballet
in the Odissi style of Classical Indian Dance.
Choreographed by Daksha Mashruwala.

Rukmani Haran is a beautiful depiction
of the story of the Royal Princess Rukmani's
letter to Lord Krishna, in which she reveals
her love and devotion for him.
On reading the letter, Krishna immediately
accepts Rukmani as his earthly consort
and whisks her away during
the Gauri Puja ceremony,
thus formalising the union
of the Jivatma and the Parmatma.

This episode, in which we find the earliest letter expressing love to be recorded in the shastras,
is narrated in seven stanzas in the 52nd chapter of the 10th canto in the Bhagawat Puran.

Scripted and produced by Smt. Shashi Binani of Binani Musicals,
the music for this ballet has been very appropriately composed by Ms. Archana Shah,
a Hindustani Classical Vocalist.

The duration of the ballet is 45 Minutes.
