Daksha's early training in Bharatnatyam under Smt. Mrinalini Sarabhai at Darpana has enriched her repertoire and instilled in her a desire to explore the multiple layers of Classical Indian Dance further with a deeper understanding of aesthetics and form.

An exponent, teacher and choreographer,
Daksha has regaled audiences in India and abroad,
with performances, workshops and lecture-demonstrations for the last two decades.
Having performed at various prestigious festivals,
she has been honoured and felicitated by The Center of World Music, San Diego and Canadian Museum of Civilisation, Ottawa, amongst many others.

Aspiring to create awareness and propagate Odissi dance and music along with other traditional art forms, she has choreographed and presented several compositions on diverse themes.
She is actively involved in the formation of 'Sanyuktam',
a collaborative initiative for enrichment of the cultural heritage
through various productions and activities.

Daksha's institution, 'Kaishiki' continues to embellish the scenario of Indian classical art with talented youngsters,
some of who have now matured into professional solo dancers.
